EA-18G GROWLER LEGACY TEAM IS INBOUND (FB)
Experience the PAST & PRESENT of U.S. Navy Aircraft
This October, the U.S. Navy Growler Legacy Team’s two jets will tear through Mather Airport’s skies to demonstrate the awesome capabilities of the EA-18G before joining in close formation with a classic Navy aircraft for a moving 3-ship salute to the history and tradition of Naval Aviation.

A variant of the combat-proven Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet, the carrier-based EA-18G Growler provides tactical jamming and electronic protection to U.S. military forces and allies around the world. The U.S. Navy continues to invest in advanced Growler capabilities to ensure it protects all strike aircraft during high-threat missions for decades to come. Presently, there are only 150 Growlers in operation.

The Growlers are from Electronic Attack Squadron 129 (VAQ-129) based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Washington. VAQ-129 is the United States Navy’s Fleet Replenishment Squadron for EA-18G Growlers. The Vikings of VAQ-129 train freshly pinned Naval Aviators and Naval Flight Officers. VAQ-129 also provides continuing education for aviators and NFOs who have been to the fleet.
Do you feel the need for speed? Don’t miss October 1-2 at Mather Airport!
