Our Story
Established in 2004, the California Capital Airshow (CCA) was born from a community-driven desire to celebrate aviation and aerospace in the Sacramento region — home to one of the nation’s most significant aviation legacies. What began as an annual airshow has grown into a powerful engine of educational access and workforce opportunity.
With more than 3,500 students engaging in CCA programming each year, our team collaborates with industry, education, government, and military partners to connect young people to real-world experiences they might otherwise never encounter.
These initiatives include:

- STEM Career Days & workforce pathways
- Airport career exploration
- Mentorship from aerospace professionals
- On-airport immersive instruction
- Scholarship awards for students pursuing aviation, engineering, aerospace, safety, logistics, and skilled trades
- Internships supporting event production, communications, engineering, and more
The Airshow brings our mission to life in the skies every year, but the greatest impact happens on the ground, long after the last jet has landed.
