First-time in Sacramento for a full f-35 JET DEMO
For the first-time in Sacramento, the F-35A Lightning II will perform a full jet demonstration! This impressive aerobatic performance is made up of 14 maneuvers and showcases the full capabilities of the F-35A Lightning II.
On the slow end, the jet will get down to an airspeed of less than 100 miles per hour, just barely hanging there but in complete control. Then on the high end, the yet to be named 2020 demo pilot, will take it up to just below the sound barrier for the high-speed pass. The jet will pull up to 9Gs, nine times the force of gravity, and carve into the air at huge angles of attack of more than 50 degrees.
Some maneuvers in the demonstration include: High Alpha Half Cuban, Weapons Bay Doors Pass, Minimum Radius Turn to High Alpha Loop, Pedal Turn, Square Loop, Slow Speed to Power Climb with a Split, S Reposition, Inverted to Inverted Roll and Tactical Pitch.
Other demo teams may give you a sample of one or two of these maneuvers, but nowhere else will you see all the best maneuvers on the planet combined into one epic demo. There’s no filler in this demonstration, it’s a ‘light the afterburner and rage for 30 minutes kind of show’. Who can’t wait to see this performance at Mather Airport on October 3-4?!
The F-35A Lightning II is the U.S. Air Force’s newest fifth-generation fighter. The Lightning II is a stealthy, multirole, all-weather air-to-air and surface attack fighter.
It will replace the U.S. Air Force’s aging fleet of F-16 Fighting Falcons and A-10 Thunderbolt II’s, which have been the primary fighter aircraft for more than 20 years, and bring with it an enhanced capability to survive in the advanced threat environment in which it was designed to operate. With its aerodynamic performance and advanced integrated avionics, the F-35A will provide next-generation stealth, enhanced situational awareness, and reduced vulnerability for the United States and allied nations.
We’re excited that the 2020 F-35 Demonstration pilot and team will be announced pending certification by USAF leadership at the end of February 2020.
STAY TUNED FOR MORE EXCITING 2020 PERFORMER ANNOUNCEMENTS!
Aircraft and performers are subject to change without notice, due to operational considerations. If anything changes, we will do our best to let you know. Thank you!
