Large Military Transport Aircraft

This massive ramp will be home for the weekend to literally tons of HUGE aircraft including the C-5 Super Galaxy M, C-17 Globemaster II, KC-10 Extender, KC-135 Stratotanker, and more. Don’t miss the chance to climb through the belly of one of these enormous beasts, see the cockpit, and meet the pilots and crew responsible for airlifting troops, equipment and humanitarian support across the globe. Some of these giants conduct aerial refueling, rescue and firefighting missions to such remote areas that they don’t even have traditional runways!

Modern Military Fighter Jets

Fighter and Attack aircraft represent some of the most exciting machines in the sphere of military power because of their design, speed, and weaponry. Just standing next to one of these stunning feats of engineering and technology mastery will show why fighters generate more interest than any other category of military aircraft. Visit the F/A-18F Super Hornet, F-15C Eagle, F-35 Lightning II, F-16 Fighting Falcons, F-5 Tigers. Get up close, meet the crew and be amazed.

U-2 Dragon Lady & T-38 Talon

Beale Air Force Base provides intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance as Air Combat Command’s home for the nation’s fleet of U-2 Dragon Lady high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft and T-38 Talon supersonic trainer. Come see these aircraft up-close and meet the team!

Awesome Warbirds & Bombers

Mustangs, Lightning, Corsair, Warhawk, Dauntless, Texans, Stearmans, Flying Fortress and N3Ns…combat aircraft and trainers that were everyday companions to airmen from World War II to the Korean War have become extraordinary treasures to many. You will see some of the most celebrated aircraft from the early 1930’s to their retirement from military service — all still flying today. These are the planes that changed the course of history.

UPS, Fed Ex & more!

Always behind tall security gates or high in the sky overhead, these behemoths circle the globe around the clock to deliver packages and goods. On an average day each of these companies deliver more than 15 million packages to more than 7.9 million customers in more than 220 countries and territories around the world. Climb on board, run amok in the enormous cargo holds and meet the men and women who operate two of the largest air-cargo fleets in the world.

Public Safety & First Responders

The best way to get the job done right is by having access to the sky! Meet the men and women that use airplanes and helicopters every day to protect and serve. A variety of law enforcement, medi-vac, surveillance and firefighting agencies will be on the ramp with lots of cool aircraft and equipment to share…even the California Department of Fish and Game! Who knew all this action was going on overhead?

Mather 100 Museum

History comes to life as you walk through the historic Mather gates where this massive airfield began its legacy of service to a nation and the Sacramento region. Join us at the Mather 100 Museum where you will experience the aircraft (T-6, T-50, B-25, BT-13 and more), vehicles, costumed re-enactors, artifacts and stories from the last century.

Aerojet Rocketdyne LaunchPad

The LaunchPad experience targets students of all ages with a dynamic, interactive STEM enrichment exhibit that promotes possibilities within the STEM subject areas (science, technology, engineering and math) as they consider college and career choices. A progressive collaboration between the California Capital Airshow, Aerojet Rocketydne and community partners, this massive exhibit allows students and their parents the opportunity to enjoy a hands-on educational experience designed to spark the interest of young adults and their involvement with STEM, while helping to provide the aviation and aerospace industries with a new generation of professionals.

Children even have a chance to interact with local youth organizations and academic institutions to learn how they can continue their interest in STEM education, information on how to join and pursue STEM-related fun and interesting activities long after the Airshow gates closed.

Kiddie Hawk

Kiddie Hawk provides engaging activities for kids, while their parents and guardians enjoy relief from the heat without missing the amazing views of the flight line. This free area is full of education, interactive STEM activities that keep children creating and exploring.

The area also offers free family services including Mother’s Lounge for nursing mothers, diaper changing stations, complimentary water and lost parents area.
